The background score is in keeping with the mood of the film. Each frame has been beautifully captured by the cinematographer. But as with most action-dramas, the plot becomes predictable and this results in a good but soul-less first-half. However, director Vasu more than compensates for it in the second half. First half of the movie has more action sequences and violence than story which makes the movie boring and tedious and also makes the audience to believe it as a routine thriller. Second half is where the director choose to justify the killings of Patel sir and the emotional sequences are handled quite well and in a matured way. To sum up, Patel Sir fails to impress.(read full review)

Patel SIR is Jagapathi Babu’s show all the way. He excelled in his role and is the main attraction for the film. Though the first half of the film runs on a flat note, the emotional scenes in the second half  save the film to an extent. All those who like revenge dramas can give this film a shot but the rest need to go in with minimal expectations.(read full review)

Jagapathi playing his age is cool, and his get-ups, expressions in emotion scenes, etc are fine. The child artiste who bonds with his character is good. With a formulaic revenge story, ‘Patel S.I.R’ flounders along.  It seems to be content in the belief that the audience are still stuck in 1990s.  Enough said.(read full review)
