Times Of India

Maragatha Nanayam does take some time to set up its characters and initially, the changes its tone are jarring, but once the plot kicks in, the film starts to entertain, handsomely. Director Saravanan also convinces us that he knows what he is doing and makes us understand that the jumps between genres are very much intentional.(read full review)

Behindwoods

In the beginning, the director takes a little while to get to the story. But once he does that, the film travels at a uniform pace till the climax making the audience laugh out loud till the end. The film could work well if you understand that the director’s objective is to give a light-hearted film and don’t much question the logic. Overall  Maragadha Naanayam is unlimited fun, if you don’t expect logic.(read full review)

Ramadoss, Arun Kamaraj’s act with Anand Raj in the second half is one of the high points of the film. The only problem with Maragatha Naanayam is the first half hour, which gives a totally different picture of a fun-filled film that follows. Overall Aadhi’s film is a refreshing take on horror-comedy.(read full review)

Galatta

An adventure thriller storyline which is unique to Tamil cinema audience in these times. Aadhi and Daniel Pope’s combination works well on screen. There aren’t any songs making it a fun watch without any slowdowns. The overall focus is more on comedy than the adventure ride the movie promised with a lot of indoor shots which could be slightly altered. Overall Maragatha Nanayam Gear up to laugh your hearts out!(read full review)

Despite a few unremarkable shortcomings, Maragadha Naanayam, definitely, is a terrific fantasy comedy with the supporting cast delivering some excellent performances that bring the roof down at regular intervals. Dhibu Ninan Thomas background score efficiently gels with the film’s multiple themes and pumps the proceedings, whenever needed.(read full review)

Deccan Chronicle

The movie starts at a leisurely pace with the director taking long time to establish the characters and fluctuating genres. But once he enters the core plot, there’s an uninterrupted laughter. The pre-climax drags a bit and does not give the right vibes for an heist / adventure genre. Dibu Ninan Thomas’ background score goes well with the mood of the film. Overall Whiff of fresh air amidst monotonous horror comedies.(read full review)

Cine Ulagam
